Tractian has announced the launch of a new industrial condition monitoring sensor that combines high-resolution vibration analysis and continuous ultrasonic sensing in a single, always-on device, designed to help manufacturers detect equipment issues earlier and cut unplanned downtime.
The new sensor captures vibration data at sampling rates up to 64 kHz and is also equipped with high-frequency ultrasonic sensing, enabling earlier detection of lubrication stress, bearing wear, and developing mechanical faults. Industry research shows that up to 80% of premature bearing failures are linked to lubrication issues, a leading cause of avoidable production interruptions.
By combining vibration and continuous ultrasound into one remotely monitored device, manufacturers can move beyond periodic handheld inspections and gain continuous visibility into asset health across the plant floor.
The system also supports real-time, ultrasound-guided lubrication, allowing technicians to apply grease while monitoring live decibel trends and immediately confirm improvement. NFC-enabled onsite validation simplifies configuration checks and field verification, reducing friction in maintenance workflows.
Unlike traditional tools that operate independently, the platform correlates vibration, ultrasonic, temperature, and magnetic field (RPM) data within a unified system. Insights can then be pushed directly into CMMS and EAM systems, enabling faster prioritization and execution.
“Manufacturers are under constant pressure to increase uptime while controlling maintenance costs,” said Igor Marinelli, CEO of Tractian. “By combining continuous vibration and ultrasound in one device, we’re giving plant teams earlier visibility into equipment risk and the ability to act before minor issues turn into major production losses.”
The launch expands the Tractian Asset Condition Management platform, which connects monitoring, diagnostics, lubrication workflows, and CMMS integration into a closed-loop reliability system.
